On the first day that same-sex couples could officially be married according to the state of New Jersey, four couples recited their vows in a grand ceremony in Cherry Hill.
Mayor Chuck Cahn described it as one of the greatest honors he has had as he presided over the first same-sex weddings in the township on Monday.
Megan and Leigh Nachod, Ed Cameron and Dennis Gaspari, Rose Papa and Renai Hall, and Manish and Jeff Mishra-Marzetti all recited their vows in front of friends and family.
The four couples were officially wed on the front lawn of the Cherry Hill Municipal Building.
The township helped the couples celebrate by decorating the front porch with white ribbons and bows. Wegman’s Supermarket in Cherry Hill donated a cake and champagne to help the couples commemorate the celebration.
