Utility improvements planned to begin for Euclid Avenue

The following was posted on Haddonfield Borough’s website.

The Borough Commissioners have authorized utility improvement work for Euclid Avenue from West End Avenue to Haddon Avenue. Utility work will include replacement of the existing water main, and installation of new water services and sanitary laterals to each home.

Asphalt Paving Systems, Inc. of Hammonton, is the borough’s contractor for the work. They are expected to begin on or about Aug. 12. It is anticipated that the work will take approximately six to eight weeks.

The contractor will begin work from Westmont Avenue to Haddon Avenue. The second construction area will be West End Avenue to Westmont Avenue. The third construction area will be the intersection of West End Avenue and Euclid Avenue. It is anticipated that the road will be closed during the construction day. The contractor will provide a notice to each home prior to construction beginning on your block. During the normal workday, starting after 7 a.m., there will be some impact on traffic while the work is being done. The work area will be closed to through traffic. Detours will be posted.

The contractor will work with residents to allow access to all properties during the day as needed.

The road portion of this project is currently out to bid. Those bids are due in on Thursday, Aug. 15. It is anticipated that the bid should be awarded at the commissioners meeting on Aug. 20. This should allow for the roadwork to immediately follow up the utility work.

Your patience and understanding during this sometimes messy process will be appreciated. The end result for the long term should be worth the short-term trouble construction work always causes.

The engineer will provide an overview of the construction project, process and project updates every two weeks, which she provides by email. If you would like to receive the updates please send an email to [email protected]. Updates are also available on the Borough website, www.haddonfieldnj.org.

If you have any questions or problems with the construction and/or access to the road, you should contact one of the following:

With the construction or access to the road — Remington & Vernick Engineers’ Joe Manganaro has been assigned as the inspector for this project. He should be your first contact. His cell phone is (609) 680–6343. If he is unable to be reached or need further assistance please contact Steve Fini, regional field supervisor at 795–9596, email [email protected] or his cell at (609) 680–6343.
