BREAKING: No settlement made on BOE and MEA negotiations

Moorestown Board of Education and Moorestown Education Association representatives met last night with a mediator, attempting to settle contracts that expired JuneĀ 30.

According to board member Kevin Oā€™Sullivan, the negotiations lasted six hours and both sides ā€œmoved a little on salaries,ā€ but did not come to an agreement.

ā€œThe BOE is committed to having a fair settlement that is financially sustainable for the district going forward. The issues are still healthcare, salaries and contract language,ā€ Oā€™Sullivan said.

Due to the mediatorā€™s availability, the next meeting is scheduled for Oct.Ā 2.
