Soprano opera singer Raya Gonen, accompanied by the Corialis Trio, will visit the Katz JCC on Sunday, June 30 to perform on the JCC stage.
They will perform “East Meets West,” a vocal and instrumental musical revue of Israeli and Jewish classical composers.
The concert is one the many yearlong Israel 65 programs, commemorating Israel’s 65 years of independence.
Gonen has performed on many stages in the United States and Israel, and has been recognized by The Washington Post for her “spectacular upper register.”
Notable performances include the Opera International Company in the United States, three engagements with the Israeli National Opera, as well as for dignitaries including Polish President Lech Walensa and the prime minister of Norway.
“Raya has a truly unique and captivating voice that leaves audiences all over the world in amazement,” said Sabrina Spector, cultural director of the Katz JCC. “We’re thrilled to welcome her back to the Katz JCC for a wonderful afternoon of opera.”
