In April 2011, I began a stint of volunteer work for the Medford First campaign.
I had received their campaign letters in the mail, and I liked what I read.
So, I made a point of seeking out Randy Pace to hear his ideas and his message first hand. Councilman Pace’s message was genuine and authentic, and I devoted my time to the worthy Medford First cause.
It was a very rewarding experience, and I was able to see their common sense, grassroots campaign topple the political machine that had a hold on our town for so many years.
In August of that year, I left for college in Washington, D.C. When I returned to Medford a few weeks ago after my second year at school, I was taken aback by the plethora of negative political mailers that I have received.
These mailers seem to belittle the difficult decisions our current council faced in its first 18 months in office.
The upcoming Primary Election presents the people of Medford with a clear choice: To continue with the Medford First message of transparent and fiscally responsible governance.
