Burlington Vicinage to offer free expungement seminar
A free workshop on how to expunge a criminal record will be held on Thursday, May 23 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Burlington County Library, 5 Pioneer Blvd., Westampton.
A criminal conviction can interfere with one’s ability to obtain a job, security clearance, or possibly financial aid when pursuing education. An expungement is a legal remedy available for certain criminal and disorderly persons convictions that can help offenders clear their criminal records.
This seminar will provide participants with information on the types of records that can be expunged, how to file for an expungement, what happens at the hearing, and what to expect when representing oneself in court. Forms will be available. Local attorneys will be available to answer general questions about the expungement process.
The seminar is sponsored by the Burlington Vicinage Advisory Committee on Minority Concerns. This is an informational session. No individual cases can be discussed or resolved.
