The Evening Membership Department of the Haddon Fortnightly is busy with several projects for the Tricentennial Service Project in Haddonfield. On April 21 at 1 p.m., they will be cleaning up the park on the corner of Grove Street and Lake Street in Haddonfield.
After the clean up, the workers will be putting up pinwheels throughout the park for prevention of child abuse. Each pinwheel will have a tag with the name of a child to be honored or in memory of one.
The cost is $3 for each pinwheel.
If you want to purchase a pinwheel send a check made out to the EMD of the Haddon Fortnightly to Alice Davis at 606 Kings Highway, Haddon Heights, NJ 08035–1240. Your whole donation will be sent on to Prevent Child Abuse NJ. This is a nonprofit organization leading statewide efforts to eliminate child abuse and neglect, in all forms, for all New Jersey’s children. The organization is working in 21 counties.
Your support helps to develop, parenting education programs, professional training seminars, and home visitation services to name a few. To learn more about the organization, go to www.preventchildabusenj.org. We hope to fill the park that day with pinwheels, not only to support Prevent Child Abuse NJ, but also to make more people aware of the problem.
Drive by later that afternoon to see how it looks.
