Brandywine Senior Living at Moorestown: Art for the Ages

Submitted by Brandywine Senior Living

In observance of National Assisted Living Week®, from Sept. 9 to 15, Brandywine Senior Living at Moorestown Estates will host a series of events developed as a special opportunity to bring together residents, families, employees, volunteers and the surrounding community to celebrate Art for the Ages.

Art for the Ages was chosen through the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) to celebrate creativity, appreciate all forms of art, and recognize how art enhances everyone’s lives.

“Art for the Ages celebrates the artist in everyone. Whether it is a resident’s painting or a local school choir. Art inspires, moves, and shapes people’s lives,” said Executive Director at Brandywine Senior Living at Moorestown Estates Chris Gillies. “This weeklong celebration is a demonstration of the commitment assisted living professionals feel when providing care and services to residents in their communities.”

Some of the week’s special events include Flag Football Game on Tuesday Sept. 11 at 2 p.m. where staff members are playing as “Eagles vs. Cowboys” with an Eagles Pep Band.

Art of Cooking on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. will kick off the month long “Iron Chef” competition with two chefs and a basket of ingredients. You be the judge. Sampling is strongly encouraged!

Art of Song and Dance is on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m. makes you feel as if you are in New Orleans. Enjoy the taste and sound of famous Bourbon Street.

Finally, come out to Family Fun Film Fest on Friday, Sept. 14 at 6:30 p.m. Join the staff outside as they watch “Dolphin Tale,” enjoy food, fun and games for the entire family.
