Summer reading program boasts thousands of books read

The Mt. Laurel Library is pleased to announce the end of a summer full of reading. Summer Reading ran from June 23 through Aug. 18, and involved more readers and more books read than any previously recorded summer at the library.

  • 564 elementary school children read 10,352 books.
  • 167 pre-readers completed 1,963 early literacy activities with their families.
  • 89 teens read over 441 books.
  • 101 adults read 379 books.

The library is grateful to its community partners for providing prizes for the summer reading program. This provided that extra motivation to keep the reading going all summer!
