The Mt. Laurel Storm 12U girls’ softball team won the Delran Spring Fling Tournament recently and took home the championship trophy, and it took six games and 36 innings to do it. On day one of the tournament, the Storm defeated the Waterford Warriors, 10–6, but then lost game two to the Medford Black Diamonds, 13–5.
On day two of the tournament, the Storm played three consecutive elimination games in order to get into the championship game. The Storm beat Marlton Thunder Black (6–1), Waterford Warriors (7–2) and the Moorestown Flames (16–1).
The championship game was a rematch with Medford, and the Storm defeated them 12–5 in seven innings to win the tournament.
