Alfred Sacchetti of Voorhees honored as a “Hero of Emergency Medicine”

The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) honored a select group of emergency physicians at this year’s Leadership and Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C., on Monday, May 21, for their outstanding efforts in communicating and educating the public about emergency medicine issues and promoting the organization’s key messages.

Among the recipients of the Communications Lifetime Achievement Award is Alfred Sacchetti, MD, FACEP, chief of emergency services and co-chairman of the department of emergency medicine at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden.

Sacchetti, a Voorhees resident, has been a member of the medical staff at Lourdes for 27 years.

Recognized as a “Hero of Emergency Medicine” by the ACEP, Sacchetti leads one of the most recognized teams of doctors, physician assistants, nurses and technicians in the country.

As an ACEP spokesperson, he is fearless in the face of conflict, and for many years, has been the organization’s “go-to” person for his crisis communications skills.

Sacchetti has been featured in a variety of regional and national publications and news outlets addressing emergency medicine issues, including ABC News, The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune and The Philadelphia Inquirer.
