Burlington County Sheriff Jean E. Stanfield has announced the results of a three-day child-support raid executed recently, a sweep that resulted in the arrest of 37 individuals who owed $507,139 in court-ordered child support.
“This was a cooperative effort involving law enforcement agencies both within and outside the county,” Stanfield said. “Enforcing child-support orders sends a clear message that the needs of our children must be met.
“This is a critical issue which, in the grand scheme of things, affects all taxpayers. When child support goes unpaid, the cost of care often falls on state and county social services and other agencies.”
