31 Burlco buses get tires slashed in one night; bus service suspended

Whatever else is going on here, it must have been a heck of a lot of work to pop that many bus wheels.

Tires were slashed on 31 Burlington County buses, knocking out service for BurLink and paratransit for seniors and the disabled, according to the Associated Press.

Vandals hit all the tires of all BurLink and paratransit buses parked at the depot on Route 38 in Cherry Hill, according to the Courier-Post — 106 tires altogether.

All the damage occurred in one night — sometime between late Tuesday and early Wednesday.

Burlington County Transportation System bus service is not operating today, the Courier said. A source told the paper the county hopes to have service back up tomorrow.

The Associated Press says damages are estimated at more than $31,000.
