Yesterday, Binh Tsan, 25, was struck while attempting to cross the westbound lanes of Rt. 70 at Ranaldo Terrace from the grass median after vehicular traffic in both westbound lanes were stopped due to congestion, Cherry Hill Police said.
Tsan was traveling with Michael Medina, 25. She was transported to Cooper Trauma.
According to several witnesses, the vehicle that struck both pedestrians did not make any attempt to stop after the impact and continued to pass all the stopped vehicles as it traveled along the westbound shoulder lane until it was out of sight.
Mayor Bernie Platt said the driver will be brought to justice.
“Yesterday, a senseless act of violence and stupidity took place on Route 70. A pedestrian was run down by a perpetrator who thought he was above the law and did not need to obey traffic safety. The driver sped off after the collision and left the victim in his wake. Today, I’m telling the community that this aggression on Cherry Hill roadways will not stand and that the driver of the car needs to turn themselves in immediately. If you do not and decide to stay on the run, we will find you and you will be brought to justice. You cannot hide from this heinous crime,” Platt said.
