After 16 months of negotiations and a fact-finding session, the Moorestown Township Public School District and the Moorestown Education Association have tentatively agreed to new contracts for the next three years.
Superintendent John Bach released a statement earlier today on the district’s website announcing the news.
I am pleased to report that the Board of Education and the Moorestown Education Association have a reached a tentative contract settlement, Bach wrote. The proposed contract will run through June 30, 2013 when ratified. The settlement, which ends a sixteen month stalemate, was reached as a result of intense bargaining over the Labor Day weekend, he said.
“The proposed settlement advances a reasonable and responsible solution to the contract dispute,” Bach wrote. “We look forward to beginning a new era of collaboration for the district.”
Both parties have scheduled ratification votes for Wednesday, Sept. 7. Details of the proposed settlement are confidential until the agreement is ratified by both parties. The BOE will meet on Wednesday, September 7 at 7:30 p.m. to conduct a ratification vote. Approval of the proposed contract is anticipated, he said.
The meeting will be held at the William W. Allen Middle School at 801 North Stanwick Road, Moorestown.
