A Medford Fire Police unit member was rushed to the hospital last week after being struck by a vehicle while he was directing traffic.
According to reports on file with the Medford Township Police Department, David Angelotti was directing traffic at the intersection of Route 70 and County Route 541 on July 29 at 11:19 p.m. due to the traffic signal being out from a widespread power outage. That’s when a 2000 Dodge Dakota, operated by 61-year-old Medford resident John Macarthur Jr., struck Angelloti as it was approaching County Route 541 travelling eastbound on Route 70.
Angelloti, a member of the Medford Township Fire Police Unit, reported pain in his chest and back and was transported by Medford EMS to Cooper Trauma Center for additional medical treatment. He was released early the next morning with a possible knee fracture and bruised shoulder.
The Medford Township Police Traffic Bureau is investigating the crash.
