Stroke, stroke, stroke

The 85th Annual Stotesbury Cup Regatta was held recently, and one of the oldest and largest high school regattas in the world welcomed more than 175 high schools across the country and Canada with over 5,000 athletes rowing in 900 boats. The event was held on the The Schuylkill River in Philadelphia.

The Moorestown Rowing Club Boys Junior Four, featuring Andrew Hendrickson (stroke), Kevin Shaloo (3 seat), Will Roman (2 seat), Matt O’Donnell (bow), and Jack Sencindiver (coxswain), competed against 55 others teams in three contests over two days before mounting the winners platform to receive their gold medals and claim the prestigious George Mattson Trophy, named in honor of the 1932 Olympian and long-time Philadelphia coach.

The Moorestown Rowing Club is a parent founded, financed and managed nonprofit organization providing training and competition in the sport of rowing for students of Moorestown High School.
