The YMCA of Burlington and Camden Counties will host its 2nd annual “An Evening in South Beach” on Friday, May 20 from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. at Aloft Hotel in Mount Laurel. The event promises a night of fun, all to benefit YMCA programming for cancer survivors through Camp No Worries, a Tabernacle based summer camp created solely for children fighting cancer and their siblings and “Livestrong at the Y,” a physical activity and well-being program that addresses the special needs and interests of cancer survivors.
Attendees are encouraged to get decked out in their coolest South Beach “casual chic” attire. Festivities include music and dancing, open bar, fabulous dinner and a silent auction with sought-after items like a MLB Network tour and chance to experience a live show hosted by MLB network analyst and 11-year major league veteran Mitch Williams, CBS-3 Philly TV studio tour by Emmy award-winning meteorologist Kathy Orr, VIP Phillies tickets, restaurant gift certificate tree, artwork, jewelry and more.
The show stopper of the evening will be a special rendition of “Y.M.C.A.” performed by Mike Gerber, Y board chair and owner of MGG Enterprise Paper and Janitorial Supplies as the “crooning cowboy,” Dan Caldwell, of Stout and Caldwell, as the “construction worker,” Rich Lewis of Burlington Press as the “policeman,” Jenny Ryan of SNJ Business People as the “Indian,” Anthony Mongeluzo of Pro Computer Service as the “outlaw,” and Glen Walton of Bowman and Company as the “sailor.”
