The Evesham Township Council will introduce the 2011 municipal budget tonight at the regularly scheduled council meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the municipal complex at 984 Tuckerton Road.
After a few weeks of delays the budget will be introduced tonight. In March, Township Administrator Tom Czerniecki put forth a budget that called for a 2.2 cent increase to the local purpose tax rate, but it was rejected by Mayor Randy Brown. Brown asked Czerniecki to see if there was anything else that could be done to reduce the rate.
The tax rate will be presented tonight at the meeting.
In other meeting news the council will consider a new concept plan for the North Elmwood crosswalk. In the past several months residents near North Elmwood have called for a safe and legal crosswalk to help the members of the Inglis Gardens Development on 304 N. Elmwood cross from one side of the street to the other.
The council will present plans for the busy roadway tonight.
