With its energetic dance skits and pop-influenced ballads, Cherry Hill High School East has selected the Broadway musical Pippin as the featured theater performance this spring. Students, faculty, family and friends are invited to attend and experience first-hand the show-stopping performance brimming with comedy, magic and bold, boisterous characters. The show opens March 4 and continues through March 13.
Composed by the three-time Oscar-winning composer and lyricist Steve Schwartz, Pippin is a contemporary coming of age tale about Prince Pippin and his search for the meaning of life. Talented Cherry Hill East students will captivate the audience with Pippin’s journey, as he experiences the glory of a war hero, the power of a politician and even falls in love along the way. The imaginative play, elaborate costumes and powerful music make for a memorable show.
Performances are scheduled for March 4, 5, 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m., and a matinee is scheduled for March 6 and 13 at 2 p.m. Tickets go on sale Monday, Feb. 28 at the Cherry Hill East ticket booth. Tickets are $10 for students and $12 for general admission; all tickets must be reserved.
