Stephany Colombo receives Congressional art award

Stephany Colombo of Moorestown, a 2010 graduate of Camden Catholic High School in Cherry Hill, received the 2010 Congressional Art Award from Congressman John Adler on June 17. Adler chose Colombo’s work after she was encouraged to enter the competition by her art teacher at Camden Catholic. Her self-portrait will hang in the U.S. House of Representatives for the next year.

Colombo was invited to spend the day in Washington, D.C., where she was treated to a reception and tour at the U.S. Capitol. Her day culminated in a meeting and picture with Adler. In addition to having her art on display, Colombo was offered a half-scholarship to Savannah College of Art and Design. She is hoping to use the scholarship to attend summer or winter courses since she will be attending Rowan University in the fall.
