July 4th festivities cancelled

By AUBRIE GEORGE | The Moorestown Sun

Due to a lack of funding, Moorestown’s Fourth of July festivities have been cancelled for the second year in a row.

The Moorestown July Fourth Parade Committee had been planning a traditional event that included a parade and a celebration at Memorial Field.

Committee Chairman Dave Schill said members weren’t able to come up with enough money to hold the event.

“The vast majority of Moorestown occupants did not contribute financially to this most worthy project,” Schill said. “So seeking funds for a July Fourth parade would probably be impossible this year.”
