Town Hall bids rejected

By AUBRIE GEORGE | The Moorestown Sun
Township officials and representatives from Greyhawk Construction are trying to figure out what went wrong after bids for the town hall project came in several million dollars over budget.
At last week’s Council meeting, members passed a resolution to reject all bids in connection with the town hall/library municipal complex project, which had been scheduled to begin construction this spring.
Greyhawk’s chief operating officer, Chuck Romanoli, apologized to council for missing the mark after construction estimates for the project had originally come in at about $11.6 million.
Romanoli told council that the miss could likely be attributed to a “multitude of things” and that certain portions of the project would likely have to be redesigned.
Mayor Dan Roccato said it would be best to figure out what went wrong with the project before moving forward with reconfiguring it. He said the township and professionals should “make sure we know what was wrong before we know what the solution might be.”
