Moorestown High School is proud to present its 2009 Fall Play, The Diary of Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman.
Anne Frank is one of the most well-known figures to emerge from the tragic events of the Holocaust. Her story of hiding from the Nazi occupation in Holland became known to the world through the publication of her diaries after her death. The Diary of Anne Frank, the stage adapatation of Anne’s diaries, opened on Broadway in 1955 and earned the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony award for Best Play. The play’s most recent adaptation debuted on Broadway in 1997 starring Natalie Portman.
The Diary of Anne Frank is directed by Mr. Greg Harr, with set design/construction by Mr. Fred Binter and Mrs. Dee Dugan, costumes by Mrs. Georgean Wardzinski, and lighting design by Mrs. Dee Dugan. Student stage managers are junior Gabbi Townsend and senior Megan Brown, the student costume manager is junior Jillian Boehm, and the student lighting managers are juniors Julian Coltre and Angelo Lamberto.
Performances are in the Moorestown High School auditorium on Thursday, Oct. 22, Friday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24. All performances are at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 adults, $8 for seniors/students. For information, please call the high school at 778–6610 or e-mail [email protected].
